Virginia Asian Advisory Board

Mission

Established by statute in 2001 as a governmental entity of the Commonwealth of Virginia, the Virginia Asian Advisory Board (“VAAB” or “Board”) serves as a formal liaison between the administration and the diverse and rapidly growing Asian American Pacific Islander (“AAPI”) communities in the Commonwealth.

Purpose

The purpose of the Board shall be to advise the Governor on ways to improve economic and cultural links between the Commonwealth and Asian nations, with a focus on the areas of commerce and trade, art and education, and general government; as well as issues affecting the Asian community in the Commonwealth.

Serve on a State Board
or Commission

The Virginia Asian Advisory Board (VAAB) encourages you to apply to serve on a state board or commission and to nominate fellow Virginians.  Service on a board or commission is one of the best ways for Virginians to participate in their government, represent their communities, and make their voices heard.
